As the cost of groceries continues to rise, so does my awareness of what I keep in my refrigerator. I’m not a fool, I want to save money any way I can these days. Most of the fresh veggies and snacks I buy each week have a noticeably longer shelf life when stored properly in latching food containers within the fridge. Some examples include lettuce, celery, deli meats, and cheese.
Call it a food taboo if you will, but I am very finicky about food staying in the refrigerator more than three days. That’s when I start inspecting it, smelling it, making someone else test it for me to guarantee its freshness.
I won’t say that these food containers have cured me of this food paranoia but they certainly keep food fresher longer, thereby saving me money each week.
Don’t be an April fool – try ‘em!
