November is upon us and with Halloween less than a week away, it’s time to start thinking about packing and storing all of your Halloween decorations and costumes. During this process I ask myself, "Will I really use this again?" The question is, will I? It’s nice to have the option so – more often than not – I choose to store it. I like to take this opportunity to re-organize and account for my Halloween decorations to avoid losing more next year.
I store my costumes and decorations in storage totes and latching boxes. Cardboard boxes all look the same and identifying a label handwritten in marker does not always prove to be an easy task. Using totes and latch boxes is a festive way to identify Halloween decorations without the effort of labeling, and when I see the Halloween colors, I know I have found all of my decorations. Unlike cardboard, these storage boxes are durable and will not rip or bend in the basement or attic. I chose to recycle my cardboard and eliminate the scariness from storing my Halloween decorations.
